what to wear(High school seniors - please click here for clothing tips.) What should you wear for your portrait session? Solid colors work best. Try to avoid bright stripes, patterns or large logos. These distract from the portrait. Our goal is for the focus of the portrait to be on the faces in the portrait rather than the clothes. OutsideDark solids look great outside. For instance, black shirts with blues jeans is always a winner. Other shirt colors that work well outside are dark brown, dark blue, dark red and dark green. Please avoid white for outside portraits unless you're at a white sand beach (not too common in Evergreen!). |

Light backdrops in the studioGoing with the idea that we want to draw attention to the face and not the clothes, it looks good to have light solid colored clothing with light backgrounds. |

Dark backdrops in the studioAgain, you want to try to blend into the background with your clothing, so dark solid clothes look classic with dark backgrounds. But please don't use black clothing for the black background - this tends to create the floating head effect! Dark red looks particularly nice with the black background, especially for children. |
