Internal smiles

6/9/2009

Share

This is the second time I've had the pleasure of photographing this 2 year old little girl. She is so sweet and happy but doesn't show it with big ear to ear smiles. She shows her happiness with cute little grins and happy movements.

In classic portraiture, you're supposed to make a pyramid with your poses. Well in general I don't subscribe to classic rules, I do whatever feels right for the moment. However I got a kick out of the perfect pyramid that these dogs made with their bodies.

I used to do a lot of action panoramas. In fact it was what I was known for at the beginning. I don't do too many now, but this session was just screaming for an action panorama. She was so happy while she was moving!

Summer times

5/19/2009

Well, it's not really summer yet but it sure felt like it for this session. Toasty! This returning client decided on another combo session so we spent some time playing in the open space park and then relaxed in the studio.

I got lots of smiley pictures of these cuties but these days I am loving the less smiley kid pictures so I'm showing a bit more of them here today.

Here is my new logo! Studio Floyd created it. He rocks! The silhouettes are taken from actual photographs that I have taken (see earlier blog post). I may change the silhouettes over time but will keep the basic design. Thanks Keith!

School pictures

This mom comes to me every year for head shots of her kids because she never likes the school photos taken at their school. We got some great ones this year! I can't believe how much these kids have grown up.

Silhouettes

I'm working on a new logo with my graphic designer and he had the brilliant idea of using silhouettes. I LOVE silhouettes and enjoyed going through my old images looking for fun action shots to turn into silhouettes for the logo. Take a look at these and you can just feel the movement. Enjoy!

There are more silhouettes on the Kids Being Kids Facebook page if you would like to see more.

And here's one of me in action, but a different kind of action.

Beauty from the Northwest

This little lady just had the most beautiful eyes and hair. I was thrilled when her mom contacted me from Washington state to do a session with her two year old daughter. We had a goal of getting a particular type of portrait for her Grandma's wall and the Grandma will have lots to choose from!

A new sister!

I had the pleasure of photographing this smiley little fellow outside on a beautiful autumn day 1 1/2 years ago when he was an only child. So I was very happy to welcome him and his new little sister into my studio for another session. He thought my remote control "tooting" machine was the funniest thing in the world. He was convinced it was one of my studio lights making the toots!

Energy!

These brothers had plenty of energy during their session. It was fun working with them because they were happy and upbeat the whole time. They reminded me of another session where the two wrestling brothers obviously loved each other and were very comfortable together.
